On Monday 3rd of December, Cpl Galway will be attending a Careers Fair in the Claregalway Hotel, hosted by the Galway Rural Development Company. The event will feature some of the largest employers in Galway such as EA Games, Medtronic, Home Instead and NUI Galway. Other organisations in attendance include the Department of Social Protection, Galway County Council and the Galway Volunteer Centre. The fair promises to provide jobseekers with a chance to network with employers and recruiters, discover exciting new employment opportunities and also receive expert career advice.
Attendees who are unemployed or earning low incomes can also benefit from the information and support of GRD unemployment mediator, Adrian Feeney and Back to Work Employment Allowance Officer, Michael Burke. Speaking about the event, Elaine Quinn, LCDP Team Leader for Galway Rural Development, said it “provides an informal setting for jobseekers to meet potential employers as well as training and education providers. GRD personnel will provide attendees with information on support and training options, which benefit the unemployed also.”
Representatives from Cpl will be on hand to provide candidates with job search seminars covering such subjects as CV writing skills, job interview techniques and networking tips. These talks are completely free of charge, however spaces are limited. The event takes place from 10.30am to 3.30pm, for more information contact Máirín O’Reilly, Mór Public Relations on 087 2407903 or visit Galway Rural Development on http://www.grd.ie/
