Applying for Jobs
Many organisations – large and small, across all business sectors – outsource the
recruitment of new employees to professionals. It may thus be important that you
work with a consultant to maximise your chances.
Cpl’s experienced recruitment consultants work with both the hiring organisation
and candidates to match the most suitable candidate with the role and organisational
culture.
A new position or a change of company or sector can affect the future direction
of your career. Our consultants thus make sure that they understand your career
plans so they can help you make career choices that set you firmly on the career
path you want to pursue.
First meeting with a consultant
At the start, you meet your consultant to go through your CV, and discuss your previous
roles and responsibilities, your skills and your career objectives.
Your consultant will also give you details of any job vacancies that match your
skills, experience and career aspirations. They will also discuss future opportunities
in the hiring organisations, as well as their organisational culture.
Once you’ve identified which vacancies you’re interested in, your consultant will
forward your CV to the relevant company.
Sending CVs on spec
You can also ask your recruitment consultant to submit a CV to companies you would
like to work for that have not advertised any current vacancies.
You can either
have your CV and full details submitted on spec, or a CV can be sent on a no-name
basis – which will suit you if you’re working for another organisation and don’t
want your details to be disclosed.
