Automation/Software Engineer

Kenny-Whelan is currently seeking a number of Automation/ Software Engineers for their clients based in Galway and Leinster

Job Responsibilities

- Ensure effective liaison with control systems and application vendors to achieve the requisite levels of systems support.

- Work with Manufacturing Automation and IT systems owners for nominated systems to ensure Standard Operating Procedures are in place, approved and operational

- To act as a single point of contact for Automation and IT end users within a designated plant area as required.
- Ensure that all assigned systems are compliant with all regulatory requirements Maintain a knowledge and proficiency in the assigned systems with a view to advanced use and development of the systems in a highly automated manufacturing environment
- Generate and execute test documentation & protocols as part of a cross discipline team
- Trouble shoot DCS software problems
- Raise and process change requests for hardware / software changes

Requirements:

- Specification & Design of automation solutions
- Development and Support (Software and Electrical) for:
-Production Equipment
-Motion Solutions
-Vision / Inspection Solutions
-Automated Test Equipment, etc

Experience and Education

Must have experience in:

- PLC Programming (RS View, etc)

- Ideally will have some exposure to VB or VB.Net (though not essential)

-Technical qualifications to third level or equivalent in Mechanical/ ---- Electrical/ Chemical Engineering / Applied Physics & Instrumentation

-Knowledge of GMP, GAMP, safety and environmental regulatory requirements

Personal Skills

-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

-An ability to work independently, as well as a member of a team, in a dynamic, fast paced environment

-Attention to detail and accurate documentation entries required

-Competent report writing skills

-Effective time management and ability to prioritize work on a daily basis essential
