Our client is a leading UK Retailer who has enjoyed a period of considerable success. With a very strong product focused proposition, in this very competitive sector, they have taken an aggressive approach during the downturn to gain market share from their competitors, through the up-skilling and promotion of their management population and changing their product range. As a result of movement the opportunity has arisen for an Area Manager to join the business at this exciting time.

ROLE

This is a classic Area Manager role with responsibility for your portfolio of stores, with a heavy focus on sales, performance management and fundamentally engaging and bringing your people with you. Having full responsibility for your stores, as an Area Manager, you will work very closely with your store managers to ensure you have the right capability in each of your stores, and that they have a clear focus on what the company key drivers are. The engagement, development and motivation of your store teams will be key in ensuring your store targets are exceeded on a continual basis.

PERSON

An existing Area Manager, you will be sales focused and results driven in your approach. Ideally you will have substantial previous experience of a service and sales driven environment such as the Fashion, telecoms or furniture / home furnishings sector. This is a tough market to compete in, and you will be a resilient and tenacious individual who is adaptable to change and will thrive in a fast paced environment. Your ability to set a vision, get the right people in the right places to deliver on that vision and drive the business continually forwards is essential. You will be passionate, energetic, structured, and above all have a desire to constantly deliver the sale. You will be happy to travel and will have the ability to stay away overnight when necessary.
