Business Analyst - 6 Month Contract

Role/Opportunity:

To drive or facilitate change through analysis and investigation of the business environment on medium complexity initiatives, usually within the context of a broader team.

• Support the Project Manager in ensuring project stakeholders are informed throughout project, including briefing on issues
• Provides advice on the prioritization of business requirements
• Communicates the requirements to different business audiences and often acts to ensure cohesive alignment between business and IT
• Performs an analysis of business functions, processes and activities
• Responsible for obtaining business signoff of the functional requirements and providing input to technical requirements definition, where required on project
• Oversees the various stages of delivery of the functional requirements
• Acts as 'translator' between business and IT or external providers
• Traces and monitors the requirements during all phases
• Carries out a constant comparison between actual against planned requirements delivery, and identifies scope issues for escalation to the Project Manager
• Contributes to post project reviews and where mandated, performs a post-implementation benefits analysis

Skills/Experience:

· 4-6 years' experience in working as a Business Analyst on large projects

• Ability to elicit information with strong listening skills and strong attention to detail
• Has total objectivity in carrying out analysis and is prepared to challenge the status quo and assumptions
• Possesses basic financial analysis skills i.e. can understand and assist in preparation of a cost benefit proposition or a business case
• Advanced business subject and process knowledge and expertise. Knowledge of IT systems and capabilities
• Highly agile in thinking
• Strong ability in analysing processes/procedures/systems/organisational structures to evaluate effectiveness. Can produce basic process models (diagrams)
• Advanced communication skills - able to provide valuable information in a timely manner to programme and project teams
• An understanding of consultancy intervention styles to influence outcomes
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, MS Project, VISIO
