My client an Irish based insurance company is looking to recruit a Credit Control and Refunds Team Leader for a permanent position reporting to the Financial Controller.
The successful candidate will manage the credit control and Customer Refunds processes for our private motor and home insurance business. He or she will be responsible for a team of 5 people, working in a busy finance department, and will need to adapt to evolving business and compliance requirements.

Key Tasks:
Ensure that all customer refunds are processed in line with internal service levels and Central Bank regulations (100+ transactions per day).
Manage and develop the team to cope with increasing transaction volumes and compliance requirements.
Ensure follow up on all customer DD defaults, and collection of amounts due.
Maximise recovery of arrears and customer retention.
Ensure that cover is withdrawn in case of non-payment.
Develop and refine existing processes, systems and controls, to ensure they remain effective and efficient.
Manage any aged debt, and minimise credit risk.
Manage interaction with customers, to ensure compliance with consumer protection standards.
Ensure that all credit control and refunds procedures are rigorously implemented.
Work with other managers, departments and business partners to deliver on objectives.
Build metrics around both refunds and credit control functions.

Skills, knowledge and abilities
Experience of a Leadership role within a Finance or accounting function (managing a team of 5 people)
Numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and an understanding of financial controls.
Business to Consumer Credit Control experience
Experience of a high volume accounts payable or financial transaction processing environment would be a distinct advantage.
Experience of developing systems and processes
Excellent organisational skills
Excellent communication skills
Good PC skills (MS, Excel, Access, Word)

Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines

€35-40k + bonus
