Senior PL/SQL and Business Objects Developer

Assignment context
My client is looking for an an experienced PL/SQL and Business Objects developer to work on a variety of development requirements for the core system, its downstream interfaces and reports. Development of new requests, change requests, enhancements and bug fixes is also a core part of this role.
Role:
• Gathering information from Business analysts if required and development of the code that meets requirements as described in the Functional Specification and the Requirements Catalogue documentation
• Assess the technical impact of any new request, change requests or enhancement raised.
• Ensure that the technical specification has been correctly implemented: conduct unit testing on the code and deliver documentation detailing unit testing with release/implementation instructions
• Liaise with and advise the work-stream project managers and clarify any ambiguity that may arise during the Build / Test and Deployment of the solution
• Work closely with other functional departments (Project management, business analysis, etc.) for understanding of the development requirements and plans and also throughout the project.
• Provide regular updates to Development Manager, highlighting any potential concerns against agreed project deliverables, risks and issues.
• The applicant should be enthusiastic and able to work flexibly in a highly dynamic, demanding and fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently and unsupervised, but with willingness to communicate with peers
• Ability to multi-task and handle short-term deadlines & conflicting priorities
• Strong Diagnostic and problem solving skills
Experience:
• Extensive knowledge of PL/SQL
• Detailed Oracle Data Warehousing experience (preferably 10 G)
• Experience of using Business Objects XI R2/3: Web Intelligence, Universe Designer - highly desirable
• Suitable third level qualification in computer science or related field.
• Knowledge of industry-standard methodologies, tools and environments.
• An understanding of general banking business practices - highly desirable
• Ability to deal comfortably with non-technical users.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to cope with aggressive timelines and ever changing priorities.
