Systems and Network Administrator
An opportunity exists for an experienced Linux and open-source technology Systems and Network Administrator working within a high availability web-facing DNS infrastructure.
This is a role requiring a high level of experience working with Linux operating systems (primarily Red Hat although experience with other distributions such as Debian would be beneficial), Domain Name Services, Solaris and also Windows Server environments. You will have demonstrable experience working with a range of technologies including BIND, Postfix, LAMP stack, Squid, Samba, Zimbra, NTP and DHCP, monitoring and alert tools such as Nagios, MRTG and Splunk as well as experience with open virtual software such as VMWare ESX. You will have a high proficiency in one or more languages including Bash, Perl, C and PHP. Knowledge of databases (MySQL, Oracle) would also an advantage.
In summary, the successful candidate will have the following:
• A BSc in Computer Science or equivalent
• A seasoned and experienced Linux systems engineer (at least 5 years)
• Strong commercial knowledge of DNS
• Knowledge of Solaris Unix and Windows server environments
• Storage/SAN knowledge
• Strong experience with VMWare ESX or equivalents
• Scripting and programming knowledge in at least one Shell language, Perl, PHP or C
