Description:
Unix and Linux Design and Build Engineer
Our client, a leading telecommunications company and one of Ireland's most established names, is seeking to hire an experienced Unix engineer.
You will have at least 5 years demonstrable and in-depth experience in open-source systems design and engineering (at least one of Solaris, AIX, HP-UX, FreeBSD and ideally Red Hat Linux) gained while working in ideally carrier class/enterprise grade infrastructures. Additionally you will have strong knowledge and experience of working with storage systems and IP networks, server applications such as web servers, AAA and LDAP, server and storage hardware and strong shell scripting skills (experience in programming with other languages such as Perl and C would be an advantage).
This is a role that will not only push your engineering skills due to the size and complexity of the systems but will also allow you to be involved in the continual design and improvement of our client's infrastructure. You will have proven experience of delivering technical documentation to a high level, ensuring service improvements and reliability, handling capacity and performance management issues and liaising with vendors.
There are few environments in Ireland which will offer engineers the range, complexity and scale of infrastructure that is available with our client. As such your engineering skills should be at the highest level. If you would like to apply for this position please send a copy of your latest CV to Tom Leonard at Cpl or call 00353 (0) 1 614 6146 to discuss further. All correspondence will be treated in the strictest of confidence.
