HR Generalist

Role Description

Cpl HR is seeking a HR Generalist to join a leading organisation in the agricultural sector professional services organisation with offices in Wicklow. This is a 2 year fixed term contract role. Working closely with the Employee Relations Manager, You will be responsible for assisting and supporting in all aspects of the HR function including talent acquisition, training and development, employee relations and compliance. The successful candidate will have previous experience working within a professional services environment.


Role responsibilities:

  • Arrange welcome packs for new joiners to include preparing Employee Handbook
  • Update Office Manager daily and to communicate effectively and openly
  • Work with the HR & Management team, in the development of a HR development strategy that is aligned with business strategy.
  • Monitor probation periods for new employees and fixed term contracts
  • Act as the point of contact on ER issues and case manage all disciplinary, grievance and counselling issues.
  • Resource and recruit new employees. Manage 3rd party vendors as the main point of contact
  • Continually challenge, recommend and, where appropriate, develop improved ways of working within the HR function through people, process and systems to deliver changes to performance and delivery ensuring a focus on our customers.
  • Assist with the maintenance of records for sick leave, vacation and business leave
  • Deal with queries from employees in a timely manner ensuring advice provided is in line with agreed
  • Improve manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems; evaluating & implementing solutions; coaching and counselling managers and employees.
  • Participate in the planning and review of the annual appraisal system, salary review etc.


Role requirements:

  • 3 years’ human resources experience in a professional services environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or relative discipline
  • Tact and diplomacy to deal with confidential matters
  • Manage a complex and demanding workload and prioritise tasks and projects to meet work standards and personal performance targets
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with Office Manager with full disclosure, both verbally and in writing, with people at all levels to include high quality correspondence
  • Work in a flexible manner and respond to changing circumstances and emergency situations
  • Strong understanding of HR best practice
