Personal / Bodily Injury Claims - Galway/Dublin

Role Description



CPL are partnering with a leading Galway based Financial Services institution who are looking to hire an injury claims handler. You will be part of a 100 person strong team, given the chance to develop and progress your career in claims and other functions down the line if desired.



  • Investigating their claim and agreeing a fair and speedy settlement within policy and legal liability.
  • Taking ownership and deal with the customer demand as if it were your own
  • Having a clear strategy that will get the best & fairest settlement for all parties.
  • Building your relationships through the use of telephone contact to achieve your settlement goals.
  • Actively identify the right claims to settle at the right time and in a timely fashion
  • Demonstrate outstanding and consistent approach to managing your portfolio of work ensuring early decision making and that all settlement opportunities are explored throughout the lifecycle of a claim
  • Negotiate claims settlements for complex, non-complex injury and damage claims.
  • Deal with pre-Injury Board claims up to litigated claims ensuring each has a clear strategy
  • Ensure that your portfolio of files are adequately reserved at all times by adhering to the reserving guidelines
  • Identify fraudulent cases by gathering & analysing all the critical data and liaise with our Fraud Teams
  • Identify any serious injury cases and refer them immediately for review
  • Ensure compliance with the CPC, DPA and all relevant legislation at all times
  • Have ability to balance the customers’ needs against treating the company cheque book as if it were your own
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues and external partners, in a professional and approachable manner



  • The successful candidate will have the ability to make sound judgments, understand and balance the needs of the customer as well as the needs of the company.
  • APA/CIP Qualification 
  • Proven experience in Motor Damage and Injury Claims Handling.
  • Experience in financial services working environment
  • Ability to manage complex situations
  • Proven negotiation skills with experience in settlement of complex & noncomplex motor injury claims
  • Aptitude to make real time decisions based on changing information
  • Strong Relationship building skills
  • Commitment to the customer environment
  • This role is within the scope of the Central Bank of Ireland's Minimum Competency Code.
