Settlements Operations Manager

Role Description

As an Operations Manager your main responsibilities will involve:

  • Management of a team of 5 full time employee’s responsible for providing operational support for EMEA Transaction Taxes
  • Ensuring the timely and efficient processing of EMEA transaction tax on behalf of various businesses
  • Working closely with the EMEA Tax department to ensure any changes to legislation are understood and applied to operational workflows
  • Employing networking skills to manage your relationships with the trading desks, finance, settlements, trades processing, technology, middle office representatives and information sources
  • Ensuring that the team works efficiently towards meeting all targets
  • Management protocols for the team (e.g. run regular team meetings, 1:1s, performance reviews, interviewing etc)
  • Leading projects and process improvements that impact the teams
  • Management of risk and ensure that the team fully complies with internal procedures, controls and regulatory requirements

As an Operations Manager your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

  • Management experience with demonstrated success in managing and motivating teams
  • Technical skills relating to operational processes within Financial services
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing
  • Ability to multi-task effectively, work well under pressure and meet changing deadlines
  • Ability to handle complex and changing workflows
  • Exceptional client service and relationship management skills
  • Influencing and diplomacy skills; ability to present a viable solution and obtain buy-in
  • Ability to understand and manage the sensitivities of different stakeholders at different levels
  • Self-motivated and can inspire others to follow your lead
  • Competence with MS Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
