VP Equity Trade Ops Manager

Role Description

This role is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to work in the dynamic Equity Trades Processing space. The team provides support to various Equity Trading Desks who trade across global markets for EMEA based clients. The role involves facing off with many different business lines, gaining exposure to a multitude of systems.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to play a key role supporting our Sales Trading Desks as well as working closely with our back-office settlement teams and Client Relationship Managers. The team deals primarily with the booking, allocation and confirmation of cash equity trades executed with our institutional client base.

Additional responsibilities will include facing off to the Front Office, dealing with queries, managing priority clients to make sure benchmarks are met, ensuring periodic functions are performed in strict accordance with timelines and checklists, managing inbox queries and issues, following process control standards on all tasks and duties performed.

The successful candidate will be pro-active with an analytical approach to work. The individual will have excellent communication skills, both oral and written and be able to work in a pressurized environment whilst maintaining an attention to detail.

This role is specific to our Equity Trades Processing team and we provide primary middle office support for a variety of London Desks including Portfolio, Electronic, high touch and Emerging Markets etc.

The trade life cycle is covered from execution to confirmation.

As an Operations Manager your main responsibilities will involve:

  • Monitor client confirmations
  • Booking of Trade Allocations
  • Query Management
  • Establish good working relationships internally with the front office, sales teams, middle and back office teams
  • Develop and maintain procedures
  • Providing Support for the London Sales Desk
  • Ensure compliance with target control standards
  • Managing client communications
  • Work with OCRM to analyse client/BAML performance against SLA
  • Communicate with the desk monthly on client and trader NON STP and work towards solutions
  • Problem escalation to product specialists and technical support teams.
  • Provide internal and external training where required

As an Operations Manager your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of operational risk
  • Proven people leadership skills and hands-on line management experience
  • Ability to define and articulate process improvements
  • Excellent product knowledge and understanding of the trade process flow
  • Must be flexible, prioritize, work to deadlines and ensure queries resolved in a timely manner
  • Competent Excel skills and the ability to manipulate data
  • Ability to communicate clearly and precisely in both written and verbal context
  • Show a high level of commitment and professional work ethic
  • Self-motivated and able to use own initiative
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task
  • Excellent time and priority management skills
  • Quick Accurate delivery of excellent Internal/External Service
