UC Engineer

Role Description

Unified Communications Engineer 

The primary function of the position is to implement and support Cisco UC solutions. The role will involve liaising directly with the customer base to deliver technical requirements and assist Senior UC engineers with the implementation of UC solutions. It is also anticipated that there will be a support element to the role – 2nd level.

Required Technical Experience

  • 5+ years hands on experience implementing and supporting Cisco’s UC product line, including Unified Communications Manager, Communications Manager Express, Unity, Unity Express, Unity Connection, Unified Contact Centre Express (UCCX), Unified Presence Server.
  • Experience designing and implementing complex, multisite voice deployments.
  • Expertise using Cisco tools to develop a project Bill of Materials, including proper software licensing and support requirements.
  • Expertise with communications protocols such as H323 / SIP / MGCP / SCCP.
  • Experience in supporting and implementing Cisco Tandberg Video Conferencing solutions.

Desired Technical Experience

 

  • Expertise integrating Cisco solutions with other 3rd party vendor products.
  • Experience of TDM PABX integration with IPT environments.
  • Experience with Unified Contact Center Enterprise.
  • Contact Center scripting experience.
  • Experience of NICE Voice recording equipment.
  • The ideal candidate will have 5+ years’ experience with a technology vendor or systems. integrator implementing and supporting Cisco voice systems and solutions.
  • Cisco CCVP Qualified.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide 2nd line UC support.
  • Participate as a “hands-on” engineer on project deployments.
  • Provide customer training as required. 
  • Maintain and develop relationships with customer and vendor partners such as Cisco.
  • Maintain technical certifications as required.
  • Attend customer technical meetings as required.
