Role Description

Application Development & Support Engineer

The successful applicant for this position should have 3+ years working in a developer /support position. The ideal candidate for this application support position will have experience working with technologies such as SharePoint and Microsoft SQL Server and its attendant suite of reporting and integration services.

The applicant will be responsible for providing a high level of internal service thus building strong working relationships throughout the business, providing and improving support for key business applications and performing administrative tasks on those systems. Long term, the candidate will have additional opportunities to work on projects within the group

The successful applicant will report to the Technical Team Lead.

Responsibilities Include:
Responding to application support escalations which involve troubleshooting moderate technical issues and resolving data/configuration issues
Responding to internal users across disparate groups to resolve support escalations
Support internal users in day-to-day activities
Monitor and manage a number of critical delivery systems
Collaborate with multiple groups on complex projects as required
Participate in, or directly work on additional projects that will enhance existing systems or create new systems

The Skills:
3+ years hands on systems administration, Development or application support role.
Familiarity with stack traces, thread dumps and other analysis techniques
SQL Server knowledge
SharePoint administration knowledge
Familiarity with ITIL Foundations desirable
3rd Level IT Qualification
Excellent time management and decision making skills
Excellent communication skills in both English written and verbal
Excellent organisational, interpersonal skills
