QA Analyst (strong SQL)

Role Description

A global technology leader leveraging proprietary dynamic financial analysis and predictive analytics are seeking a QA Analyst to join them on a permanent basis.

QA Analysts with strong SQL will be considered for this role, which sits within the BI/Data Warehouse solutions team. There will be the opportunity to learn new skills in the area of data analysis/testing, and to get involved in varying projects both within the team and across the business (including test automation).

This is a fast-paced and rapidly changing business environment, so you will need to show initiative and an enthusiastic approach to working with the rest of the team.

Day to day you will be:

  • Actively participating in reviews of application designs, business and functional requirements and specifications
  • Contributing to the definition of development standards, promoting testing efficiency and effectiveness, including test automation
  • Testing all layers of the data and business intelligence suite, including, ETL Testing, Report & Dashboard Testing, Cube Testing and Data Reconciliations
  • Contributing to continuous process improvements within the team
  • Sharing skills and knowledge gained with other QA Analysts.


  • Strong SQL skills and proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Proven ability to work cooperatively and effectively with all members of small to large project teams
  • Experience working on Agile projects
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to use creative thinking to resolve problems and refine processes
  • Ability to perform with minimal supervision
  • Self-driven with a proven ability to multi task
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and identify innovative solutions to solve problems and improve work process
  • Experience testing DataWarehouse systems and SSAS and SSRS based applications (ideal)
  • Experience testing Tableau desirable
  • Experience with Big Data solutions, particularly AWS Redshift desirable
