Role Description

 

HEAD OF FINANCE – 12 MONTH FTC

 

This is an exciting Head of Finance role with an elite organisation in the west of Ireland. You will report to the CEO and Operations Director. The role and purpose of the position is to provide critical information and analysis to facilitate operational and strategic decision making. You will be an experienced, qualified and charismatic person looking to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsibility for day to day financial control of the organisation
  • To ensure effective controls are in place to deliver timely, accurate and compliant financial information
  • Ensure finance and relevant business processes are aligned to operational requirements
  • Preparation and delivery of monthly/quarterly/annual reports and accounts as required
  • Act as key point of contact for Auditors
  • Preparation of quarterly/annual budgets and forecasts
  • Ensure compliance with all tax, regulatory and governance requirements
  • Preparing reports and presenting results to Board and sub-committees as required
  • Provide financial analysis to critically assess all new opportunities and initiatives
  • Must report to Director of Finance on Investment in the manner required
  • Management of a small finance team
  • Responsibility for the successful operation of the payroll function
  • Any other duties as may be determined by the Chief Executive from time to time

 

PERFORMANCE MEASURES

  • Organisation remains within agreed budgets at all times.
  • Maintains full appropriate internal control procedures and policies
  • Meet reporting requirements of stakeholders on a timely basis.
  • Meets all deadlines for financial reporting
  • Ensuring the Finance Department has the confidence of the various stakeholders

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience of a comparable Finance Manager role
  • Strategic and operational finance experience
  • Chartered Accountant (ACA) with significant PQE (7+ years)
  • Proven board level experience with a demonstrated commercial acumen
  • Excellent communication and negotiating skills.
  • Strong management skills with experience of successfully leading and managing a finance team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Proven success at building excellent working relationships and operating effectively as a member of a leadership team.
  • Knowledge of financial / accounting software packages, Pegasus Opera, Brightpay
  • Experience in MS Office software.
