Job Title:                    Order to Cash Operations Lead

Responsible to:          Order to Cash Department Manager                         

Role description:   

 The O2C Operational Lead will report to the O2C Manager and will share responsibility for Order to Cash collections, compliance and AR ME activities within the department This role will require effective management of people managers, driving the team (s) to perform at their highest standard.

Job Description:

Work Planning and Resource Allocation

  • Management the day to day activities of the teams who report to the role
  • Assigning of resources to operational day-to-day activities, migrations and improvement projects
  • Own and drive Continuous Improvement Projects throughout the O2C Function
  • Develop and manage short and long term operational goals and tactical objectives of the Order to Cash team

Policy/Strategy Development

  • Develop and monitor Order to Cash policies and procedures, and resolve functional issues
  • Identifying, analysing and implementing the re-engineering of GFS Order to Cash  processes and relationships, with both internal and external stakeholders on an on-going basis
  • Member of the Order to Cash Management team managing the Operations and identifying both process and system improvements on a Global scale

 Staff Training and Development

  • Recruit, retain and motivate staff who are “Best in Class”. Ensure that teams function efficiently and effectively.
  • Develop direct reports as effective People Managers using on-going coaching, personal development and performance management process
  • Provide guidance and support to the team with career planning and developmental opportunities
  • Create an environment that allows team members to grow and be continuously challenged, and that promotes productivity and a right first time attitude.

 Continuous Improvement

  • Drive the successful achievement of Global transformational projects with Project resources providing guidance on O2C process and controls, monitoring of key project deliverables and ensuring operational readiness.
  • Continuous control of processes to ensure that the O2C area operates in an efficient and cost effective manner and identify upcoming opportunities for improvement
  • Automation of the O2C manual processes where applicable

Customer Service

  • Foster close relationships with inter GFS, Local Market and/or Project colleagues and ensure high service level delivery, ensure all identified project activities are address in a swift proactive manner
  • Develop solutions to complex operational issues with GFS, Local Market and/or Project colleagues, while following established GFS & Global Policies and Procedures
  • Guide and educate colleagues on correct practice to maintain the operational benefit of a process or technical improvement
  • Promote the MiP strategy of Trusted & Integral Business Partnership, ensuring customers (Internal & External) are satisfied and goals are delivered in a timely and cost effective manner


Internal and External Representation

  • Maintain the relationship and deliverables between GFS Collections and A&R teams, and
  • Liaise with other internal GFS functions to ensure accuracy and completeness of end-to-end processes and interaction of functions


  • Develop, maintain, and update personal knowledge and expertise through appropriate means to ensure understanding of relevant knowledge areas and to identify possible future developments
  • Advise on GFS & Global O2C policy
  • Perform detailed ledger reviews to ensure integrity of data across relevant markets



  • Monitor, control, improve and administer systems, processes and databases to ensure system and data security
  • Advise on GFS & Global O2C policy
  • Ensure compliance requirements adhered to throughout each element of the O2C Organisation
  • Provide timely updates to SOP’/s & RCM’s where applicable, and promote a strong control environment

Skills and Experience Required:




  • University Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
  • Qualified/ Part Qualified accountant or similar


Skills & Experience:

  • A proven leader with a demonstrated ability to manage a large team of professionals, in particular the management of people managers.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisation skills required, adaptable to multi-cultural environment
  • Must demonstrate leader behaviours to help shape and model desired culture in a shared service operation
  • Understanding and knowledge of the full Order to Cash process, in particular Accounts receivable and Analytics & Reporting desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of business processes supported by ERP capabilities for SAP and E1.
  • Proficiency in English, additional language skills preferred but not required
  • Respect for diverse cultures, particularly European

    • Medium to advanced Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Visio)
