Role Description

Quality Co-ordinator Job in Coleraine
In partnership with its client, CPL is currently seeking a Quality Co-ordinator to work with a busy engineering / manufacturing company in the Coleraine area.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will assist in delivering a quality culture and ensure the best in class performance to an extensive customer base, and implement relevant quality control procedures across all of the company’s activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all systems are maintained to meet the requirements of BS EN ISO 9002, ISO 1400 and OHSAA 18001, and kept under review by means of formal and informal audits;
  • Set up and maintain quality controls and documentation such as quality manuals and quality procedures.
  • Establish and complete clear and easily applied quality audit and inspection methods to demonstrate standards and improvements achieved.
  • Investigation of quality issues implementing corrective actions and elimination of root cause.
  • Ensuring that adequate, correct, product specifications are available, as and when required,
  • Quality interface between client & customers, suppliers & regulatory bodies
  • The total handling of all customer concerns, from receipt through investigation to settlement and corrective action;
  • Collection/analysis/reporting of Quality KPI data: eg: internal & external reject rates, material utilisation etc.
  • Scheduling & convening regular internal Quality Meetings and focus groups
  • Identification & management of Quality-related training for Inspection & Shop-floor staff
  • Co-ordinate day to day activities of direct reports in terms of quality control on factory floor


Essential Criteria:

  • 3-5 years in equivalent experience in quality control and improvement
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing based role managing a Quality focused team (direct reports)
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Quality principles
  • Experience of interpreting engineering drawings
  • Planning, control and improvement including working to audited ISO quality standards.
  • Minimum Maths & English GCSE or equivalent
  • IT skills

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience of fabrication and metal working techniques
  • Experience of implementing and sustaining continuous/ business improvement techniques such as Lean, 5s, Six Sigma
  • Experience of developing systems/processes for new customers and New Product Development
