Role Description

Mechanical Design Engineer - Antrim

Our client is looking to add a mechanical design engineer to their team of talented engineers, In this role you will influence and advance the following Engineering activities:

  • Developing and enhancing market leading Sensor Products, CAD Development and Design Release.
  • Working cross functionally and proactively to ensure that a new design or design change is optimised for manufacturing assembly, supplier manufacturing and cost effectiveness.
  • Maintaining Best Practice design support to our clients Product Development Process, including release of CAD, Finite Element Analysis, DFMEAs etc.
  • Planning and executing product development & validation testing: ensuring completion, analysis, conclusion and direction.
  • Building Customer relationships through interpersonal discussion, technical presentations, Design Reviews, Plant Visits etc.
  • Gaining technical expertise of our clients product capability to advise internally and externally on requirements and specifications.
  • Opportunities to visit Customers, Suppliers & other R&D/Manufacturing sites, worldwide.


Personal Specification:

  • Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering (Minimum 2:1) or equivalent.
  • Experience in 3D CAD packages & 2D drawing preparation.
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) & interpersonal skills.
  • Highly computer literate / proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Initiative, team working, research & problem solving skills are essential.
  • Willing to understand sensor related electronics and their behaviour.
  • A valid drivers licence is required.


This will be a full-time role based in Antrim, Northern Ireland. Occasional travel may be required, e.g. visiting Customers, Suppliers & other R&D/Manufacturing sites.
