Role Description

Head of Insurance Products (Banking) Dublin

This role is central in the achieving aggressive growth targets in the Retail Business, a critical component for the delivery of the Retail Banking strategy.  The successful candidate will be a self-starter, creative and highly motivated.

In order to be considered for this role candidates must have the following:

Hold the QFA/CFP qualification.

Significant exposure to Life/General Insurance products.

Experience bringing Life/General Insurance products to market.

Exposure to product design, sales and distribution of Life/General Insurance products.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ownership and accountability for the end to end bancassurance value proposition.
  • Working with insurance partners to manage the development and performance of the insurance product portfolio.
  • Management of the relationship with chosen insurance product providers.
  • Responsibility for delivery of the commercial performance of the bancassurance business (in conjunction with distribution) and overall ownership of the bancassurance P&L.
  • Provide comprehensive analytics on financial and management information to facilitate the formulation of informed business plans.
  • Understanding and analysing external market and proposition developments, providing competitor analysis (both domestic and international) and having a detailed understanding of the legal, regulatory and political environment relating to the bancassurance products.
  • Compilation of financial and business performance reports to key stakeholders including the Board, the Executive Committee and Operational Risk Committee.
  • Challenging commercial performance of the bancassurance business.
  • Sponsoring and leading strategic improvement initiatives.
  • Take a key oversight role in the end to end customer experience for bancassurance customers and ensuring that exceptional customer experience is at the centre of all new processes or propositions.
  • Review and implement tactical and strategic sales plans and achieve agreed upon KPIs and objectives.
  • Participate in defining product distribution channel needs and emerging opportunities.
  • Participate in defining target segments and strategies for insurance products and bundles of products.
  • Develop an effective working relationship with all parties, including other retail product owners, who can help contribute to achieving product specific goals.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • QFA qualified
  • Demonstrable understanding of the insurance (life & general) market with knowledge of local and international developments, competitor propositions and regulatory environment
  • Successfully introduced a product to market ( must be a Life/General Insurance product)
  • Currently involved in product design, sales and distribution within a corporate structure
  • Results focused and the ability to perform to meet stretched targets
  • Excellent analytical stills with demonstrable experience in the consolidation, interpretation and analysis of management information

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong communication and presentations skills with an ability to deal with all levels in a confident and professional manner.
  • Has a rounded knowledge of the industry to be able to determine what people want
  • Self-motivated, highly energetic and ability to embrace a demanding work environment
  • Be a proactive team player who is strongly motivated by achieving targets
  • Excellent attention to detail required
  • Proficiency in a suite of MS office products – Excel and Powerpoint essential

Education and Experience:

  • QFA qualified
  • Relevant third level qualification desirable
