Role Description

Credit Advice Executive – Dublin City Centre – Full Time Permanent

The Department:

The Credit Acceptance Department is responsible for ensuring that the company has an effective and efficient credit underwriting process in place and is also responsible for the drafting and disseminating of credit policies, standards and criteria with the objective of protecting against, and minimising credit losses. 

The Role:

The successful candidate will be a member of the Credit Advice team who are responsible for completing independent risk assessments and recommendations to Credit Decision Takers on credit proposals received from the Recovery Unit (responsible for management of Retail and Corporate work-out cases).  This inter alia includes an analysis of account strategy, credit risks, credit ratings and impairment calculations.  The primary focus for this role will be the assessment of Retail (MARS) cases however the candidate will also be cross-trained across other credit work-streams (e.g. Corporate, Business Banking, New Mortgages and Consumer Finance) so they can assist in these areas when required.

The individual must be able to demonstrate experience in the assessment and analysis of credit proposals and should have a background of working in a credit or relevant lending environment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will assist in delivering an efficient, accurate and professional service to internal customers.

The main roles and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Effectively and efficiently assess credit applications and complete credit advices for Credit Decision Takers, ensuring highest credit assessment skills are maintained;
  • Ensure individual and team Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements are achieved while maintaining a high-quality output;
  • Work closely with relevant Departments to ensure all queries and requests are managed efficiently and accurately;
  • Ensure adherence to Credit Policies, Standards, Criteria and Procedures and maintain a high level of accuracy and standards at all times; and
  • Ensure adherence to all Regulatory requirements.

Knowledge, Education & Experience:

  • The successful candidate will typically have up to 2 years’ experience within a Credit or Lending environment.
  • Relevant third level qualification or professional equivalent.
  • QFA qualified preferred.

The successful candidates will be responsible for the following activities:

  • Delivering a strong customer service along with completion of general administration duties.
  • Ensures the production of relevant reports and checks.
  • Escalates errors and breaches to next level and other relevant persons.
