Job Description

As Head of Business Development (AP), you will be responsible for the company’s Affinity Partnerships team. You will have a hands-on approach and lead and inspire by example.


Your Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for your team’s activities which will include, but not limited to:

  • Advising, agreeing and delivering upon the Affinity Partnerships team strategy and financial targets.   
  • Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and managers to ensure your team delivers upon its strategy in accordance with cross team requirements
  • Proactively pursuing and negotiating new business partner relationships.
  • Managing and optimising the inbound and outbound sales pipelines & processes using appropriate software and systems as well as your sales and marketing knowledge.
  • Maximising the value of existing partner relationships by providing high levels of support and advice, using analytics to identify areas for improvement, suggesting customer journey improvements, monitoring industry trends, and generally promoting our systems and opportunities.
  • Identifying areas for new product and feature development for your partners and project managing delivery of same.
  • Liaising with IT to ensure all day to day technical issues affecting partners are resolved in minimal time, and escalating business critical account issues where appropriate.
  • Driving the performance of your team (and contractors where appropriate) and maximising their efficiency through both existing and new business processes and procedures, via coaching, mentoring, training and supporting their personal development.
  • Ensuring your team and business partners where applicable) meets contractual, legal, compliance and regulatory commitments and SLAs.
  • Managing the reporting and record keeping processes to meet all internal and external requirements for your team.


As the successful candidate, you will have:

  • 10+ years’ experience in a sales/business development role within the IT or fintech sectors. Experience within the insurance, finance or SaaS industries would be an advantage.
  • At least 3 years leading a sales or business development team and managing a sales pipelines.
  • 2:1 or higher in a technology related degree.
  • A proven record in developing existing client relationships, establishing new business partnerships and surpassing sales targets.
  • A strong and motivational team leader.
  • Experience in utilising technology and tools to optimise and automate the sales process.
  • Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills, plus excellent written and verbal skills.
  • KPI driven with a good understanding of business analytics.
  • Have a resilient attitude with a positive and winning mentality.
  • Be available to travel to various UK based partner meetings each month.
