Renewables Project Manager

Role Description

Our client, an Energy Services Company, are seeking to hire a Renewables Project Manager.

The successful Renewables Project Manager will be responsible for all aspects of developing onshore wind farm projects as well as other forms of renewable technologies. This particular role will involve the origination of opportunities, landowner negotiations, environmental and planning work, stakeholder management and the management of development projects through the planning system. The role will also involve supporting other units within the business in order to achieve successful project developments.

The successful candidate will have proven experience within energy project development, especially in the areas of Renewables, Anaerobic Digestion and/or Biomass.

To be considered for the role you will have:

  • Third level degree Business, Engineering, Project Management or equivalent.
  • An in-depth knowledge of the renewables industry including a thorough knowledge of technical and development work for large scale renewable projects.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing multiple projects simultaneously, utilising large numbers of resources and contractors.
  • Experience in reviewing renewables contracts including TSAs, BOPs, and EPCs.
  • Ability to resolve problems and handle routine work with limited supervision.
  • Ability to advise on acquisitions due diligence including possible mitigants.
  • An understanding of the planning process in Northern Ireland and RoI.

Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for obtaining planning consents and amendments.
  • Manage planning compliance pre-construction.
  • Manage environmental compliance pre-construction, including liaison with NIEA/EPA and planning authorities.
  • Responsible for all planning studies including noise, shadow flicker, visuals, EIS, TV interference and the management of consultants.
  • Effective external stakeholder management including landowners, politicians, planners,
  • third party consultants and specialists, utilities, roads services and other public bodies.
  • Effective internal stakeholder management including Senior Management, Corporate Development, Renewables Team, Renewables O&M Team and Regulation.
  • Management of Community benefit assessments.
  • Responsible for Met masts and wind assessments.
  • Input into Optimised Technology selection.
  • Commercial negotiation with stakeholders and project counterparties.
  • Responsible for risk management on each project.
  • Input to Regulatory lobbying.
  • Project manager stakeholder management throughout the construction phase.
  • Responsible for regular reporting of all development projects.
  • Manage the budget for relevant development projects.
  • Understand and have input to cash flow projections.
  • Project Resourcing as required.
