People check out in meetings. It’s a constant battle for attention against the ping of an email or the ‘I’m expecting a call’ urgency. It’s not our fault, we have a short attention span. Demanding people’s full concentration while they’re in a meeting room for 60 minutes is asking a lot, but if you’re able to find a common interest with someone, for example fitness, chances are you’re more likely to hold their attention.
